Climate Change
Climate change is defined by the United Nations Convention on Climate Change as “change of climate which is attributed directly or indirectly to human activity that alters the composition of the global atmosphere and which is in addition to natural climate variability observed over comparable time periods.”
What You Can Do
1. Calculate your Carbon Footprint. Your carbon footprint is the amount of emissions that you emit from your daily activities (e.g., driving your car, heating your home, using electricity). For a detailed assessment of your carbon footprint, see the Greenhouse Gas Calculator on the EPA's website. Jot down the total number of your pounds of emissions from the "Personal GHG" calculator to use in the next step.
