About ClimateSAVE
ClimateSAVE is a product based on Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) and can be used to offset greenhouse gas emissions. It works like this:

For every unit of renewable energy generated, an equivalent number of Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) are produced. Because it is impossible to actually trace electrons on the grid, it is also impossible to direct the electrons of clean energy (as opposed to coal energy) to your home. To overcome this, renewable power generators create RECs, which represent the renewable and environmental benefits of clean energy. When consumers purchase RECs, they help replace conventional electricity generation by supporting renewable energy generators. The purchase provides global environmental benefits including reducing global climate change and regional air pollution.
Your ClimateSAVE purchase helps provide the necessary funding for renewable energy facilities to continue operation, and supports the production of new renewable energy.
ClimateSAVE is Green-e Energy certified, consisting of only new, emissions-free renewable resources such as wind and solar. Your purchase of ClimateSAVE supports renewable electricity production nationally. You will continue to receive a separate bill from your utility.
Purchasing ClimateSAVE

ClimateSAVE can be purchased in blocks, each equal to 500 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of renewable certificates. This is equivalent to about 660 pounds of CO2. Each ClimateSAVE block costs just $8.75 a month. What a cheap price tag for cleaner air! You can purchase as many blocks as you wish.
If you would rather make a one-time purchase, you can buy ClimateSAVE just once to offset your emissions for an entire year. Just find out your emissions and purchase ClimateSAVE to offset them.
